Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

No toilet, water in my home. Ceiling caved in

My children and I have been for the past 8-9 months without water of any kind except what leaks from the upstairs apartment. I have called and wrote to the banks and their lawyers begging for help.

3 weeks after I wrote, the whole apartment building was evicted.

I have gone to court and asked for help and I got them to sign an agreement to fix my house until I move. They are ignoring me again.

I have No toilet and no shower and no bathroom sink at all. I have no water whether hot or cold in my kitchen. The ceiling is falling in and they have ignored the requests from the board of health as well.

I have to use the shower of a neighbor and we carry buckets of water to flush our toilet.

Please someone tell me they can help. I have to ideas what to do.

If the building is in such poor shape, it is or should be condemned. You can be required to move out. In theory, the owner must supply you with a place to live. Theory doesn't help if the owner is bankrupt or in jail.

If your children are under age 17, you are at risk of being determined neglectful of them for not moving. DSS cannot ignore such circumstances.
