Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

Unruly Nieghbors

I think this site is a great resource and hats off to all you who are helping all of us out with such good information.

I have a question, the house next door to us have a pile of new tenants, unknown amount. They have been having huge weekend parties in the yard lasting from Saturday afternoon clear through until Sunday night. They refuse to tone it down and when the police come they quiet down before they get there (must have a scanner going). When my family goes into our yard we are stared down and made to feel like we are intruding on their fun.

We cannot contact the owner, he moved out last year and even the City has no idea how to contact him. We had problems with garbage left out for months and the City had no way to contact him. When they or I ask the tenants for his information they go into the dont speak English routine.

Is there anyway for me to track the owner down, I know his name and the City he lives, thats all. Secondly, do I have any legal recourse against him for our loss of the enjoyment of our property? I plan on writing him a letter and address it to the property next door and write on the envelope to forward it to him.

You can get some of the information from his deed.

The police can be contacted to enforce local ordinances and other complaints by filing an action against the tenants who violate the law.

There are data bases that can track people down. The town treasurer must be sending the tax bills somewhere?
