Legal Question in Health Care Law in Massachusetts

If I go into a Chiropractor's office for chiropractic work, and they provide treatment, do they need to let me know that they are using an additional billable treatment, such as massage therapy prior to them doing so, or can they just begin the treatment without telling me first?

You are correct. You cannot be charged for a service that you did not bargain for. The only problem you may have is if you were on notice that a new technique was being used and did not request the chiropractor to stop. You should negotiate the removal of the undisclosed charge from your bill.
