Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts
Asylum and divorce
When we applied for political asylum, we decided to file with my wife as the primary applicant and myself as a beneficiary. The asylum is still pending decision. If we go through a divorce now what will happen to my status as a beneficiary? Assuming I lose that status, will I be able to file a separate asylum application on my own after divorce?

Re: Asylum and divorce
Yes...you can but if your claim for asylum depends on being the spouse of the primary applicant then you have a problem.
