Hi,

If you entered the U.S. legally (and subsequently overstayed your authorized stay), you will be able to adjust status in the U.S. based on a bona fide marriage to a U.S. citizen. The petition for alien relative and adjustment of status application, among other applications and supporting paperwork, are filed concurrently. The following webpage from our website is helpful: www.h1b1.com/Uscitizen.htm
