Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

My husband was caught taking money from work. He pleaded guilty in his statement. He was terminated and is being brought to court by the company to pay back missing money that is under investigation. He said in his statement he is pleading guilty and agrees to pay the money back. My husband is on a permanent resident card. He is waiting to receive his court summon paper in the mail. My question is would he be deported for this? I am worried immigration will be involved. I have read other questions of similar cases and they were not deported, but should I be worrying?

Anything dealing with dishonesty may cause him to be deported. From your question, I am not sure whether the employer is suiing him civilly or, in the context of a criminal case, the employer is looking for restitution. He needs to consult with an experienced immigration attorney before he does anything else. A lawyer in my office specilizes in immigration law and I am sure would be happy to discuss the matter with him. Please contact me at 617-426-7400 if you are interested.
