How Can my husband become a US citizen?

My husband is originally from Jamaica. We have been married since 2003. He wants to become a US citizen. Like many of the people from his country work took priority over education. He can not read or write well. Is there anyway he can get his citizenship without taking written tests? He could manage oral tests well. He also has a US citizen son, could he get citizenship through his son?
