Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

My Korean son-in-law came here legally on his father's visa when he was a child. To the best of my knowledge he has never left the country. His father went back to Korea. Parents are divorced, Korean mother had custody of children and remained in US legally. My son-in-law & daughter (married almost 2 years)had their INS interview today & were told that he has 30 days to show proof of entry or he must leave. How can we get the date of legal entry? INS would not suggest how to get this vital piece of information. Why do I pay taxes? Stupid parents threw out old documents. My daugher & son-in-law are wonderful young adults and have tried to do things legally.

You must request a copy of proof of entry (Form I-94) from the Immigration Service.
