Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

paternity claim

I am a legal resident on work permit over 21. My father is a us-born citizen however, due to family problems he left since I was 5. We are back in touch again and he we wonder if he ca still claim me as he son even if I am over 21? If so, what does that mean? what happens to my current case?
