renewing green card

My fiance had a green card in the US. He went back home to the philippines 10 years ago due to illness of his parents. green card has expired. Can he still renew his green card as we will be getting married and i live in the US

Unfortunately, your fiancee will not be able renew his green card because he abandoned his permanent residence in the US. You can bring him back to the US in a relatively short time by applying for a K-1 visa. You will have to get married within 90 days of your fiancee's arrival.
