Is it legal to copy an image from google images and post it on my not-for-pay website as a logo?

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Regardless of where you find an image, it probably is subject to copyright or other IP protection by the owner. If you use someone's IP, you can and probably will get sued. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
