Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Massachusetts

DSS neglect allegations

I was informed that I had a neglect allegation about my 3 kids, they came to my house when I was sick,9 months pregnant and my land lord and I were in a legal battle over sanitation issues with my kitchen sink. they decided to find reasonable cause to support the allegations, based on this 5 minute visit. I am going to appeal, but they say I must allow them to do a family assesment and sign waviers for all of my kids, including the one not born yet? who wasn't on the original allegation papers. What do I do? DO I sign the papers? or do I have the right to wait for my fair hearing?

: DSS neglect allegations

There is no must!

Without knowing your situation, I would urge you to contact an attorney and review this. Signing papers with legal significance that you do not understand SHOULD NOT BE SIGNED.

With any DSS decision, you have a right to appeal, and this must be done before the deadline ends.
