Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Massachusetts

Minors Serving on Board of Directors

I am a 14-year-old interested in serving on a Board of Directors, but I have been told that minors (those under 18) in Massachusetts cannot legally serve on a Board of Directors. I can understand why, because Board members are occasionally asked to sign legal documents, but I could just get my mother/father to cosign with me, correct?
