Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
There is a backlog of paychecks dated back to the week of 09_01_2019.
There is also a backlog of the reimbursement for my travel expenses dated back to 06_10_2018 in the amount of approximately $16,000.00.
My employer does not deny these facts but keeps saying that there is no money in the company.
This is true and as far as I can see there is no money coming in the nearest future.
So far I did not do anything, just patiently waiting for the paychecks but I did not get anything at all for a very long time.
At this point I would like to start doing something about it. The company is LLC.
What are my options?

Luckily, if you worked in MA, owners are individually/personally liable for unpaid wages - so if the company is defunct, but the individual owner has an ability to pay, you have options. The law is absolutely strict in this area and entitles you to three times the unpaid wages as a penalty to the employer. For that reason, most firms, like mine, take these cases with no out-of-pocket costs to you....
