Under what circumstances can I collect unemployment for resigning from a job?

I am currently employed by a very large insurance company. The project I am on is considered very stressful and employees are leaving in droves. I was solicited by another department within the company seeking to have a position within their team filled. When my manager learned of this, he immediately began making an already bad work environment worse. He deliberately would not speak to me, he assigned all the work that was considered undesirable to me alone (whereas prior to my interview with the other dept. the work was spread out), I was notified of my work assignments by being included in the "cc" line of e-mail notes directed to someone else. I have sleep apnea which already causes sleep depravation and the added deliberate stress my manager has put on me is causing me anxiety attacks, frequent headaches, and an even greater lack of sleep. I have brought this to the attention of HR and nothing is being done. Can I collect unemployment benefits if I quit my job?

Under the right circumstances you may be eligible for worker's compensation. You may have an action directly against the manager on his interference. Or it may be a nasty game of office politics where you are simply being outplayed.

I'm sure the company would say NO! But then again, with some medical verification, or even a doctor's note and a good lawyer, you may indeed be able to collect benefits.
