I told someone at work ''who is hispanic'' we should go for a beer in an hispanic bar and they took it as a racist comment. Doe the employer have to act on that? Is that considered harassment? Wasn't intended on my part

Whether it violates your employer's workplace policies is incredibly fact and context specific.
