Fingerprints at punchclock

The nursing home where I work is in the process of installing a new time clock to stop the stealing of company time. To clock in, fingerprints of each individual will be used. Is this legal? It seems rather intrusive.

I do not believe it is illegal. In fact, don;t you think it a good idea to fingerprint all employees who work at nursing homes to be sure they don't have an abusive background.
