Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
I was fired after bringing forth a sexual harassment complaint. Basically I found out my male boss and male coworker had been writing sexual emails about me back and forth. One of the emails came to me, so then I went and looked for more and found 19 emails in my boss' email account about me. Since we had no internet policy at my company (only 6 employees), I could not get into trouble for looking at my boss' email which he left open and up on his computer. I brought forth my complaint (without them knowing how I got the information), I was then put on a "performance plan" and they wanted me to reach impossible sales numbers. At the end of the 30 day performance plan, they fired me, even though I was the highest producer in the company. This was 2 months after I retained a lawyer for the sexual harassment. In addition to the emails, my boss had made sexual jokes about me and directly in front of me.
I do have a lawyer now, but he has done absolutely nothing and 8 months have passed since I was fired. I want to find a lawyer that is hungry, aggressive and will go after my previous employer for damages and lost wages.
Any advice is appreciated!
