Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Getting Fired for being pregnant

Hi

I work in South Attleboro, MA. I was just fired on friday April

18,2008

They said it was because of my attendance. They gave me a written

warning in november

of 2007 for 90 days. I never heard from them again and knew I was

doing much better

from illnesses I've had or the children had. I wasnt on written

warning anymore.

They found out about a week ago that I am pregnant and figured I

would need more time

off and took care of it. Is this legal? They also didnt go through

the steps for dicipline

as described in the handbook.

On another note, the owner of the company actually went into the work

place at 9pm one

evening to warn certain employees not to do cocaine on company

property and could

prove they were but wouldnt get Human Resources involved. I will

except the decision

but I dont feel these acts are appropriate or legal. Any advice or

where I can find it?

Regards

Re: Getting Fired for being pregnant

What kind of company is this (industry, function), how large (locations, employees), do they have insurance, etc?
