Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
I had been granted stock options in an offer letter, accepted the job and worked for the employer for several years. The offer letter stated that the options were to be granted the next quarter after my start date. I never received the options and am no longer with the company do I have any recourse?

There is a good chance that you do, but this of course depends on the lanquage of the stock option agreement and plan. However, before assessing your rights you should ask whether you would want to exercise the options. This depends on the exercise price and the value of the company and whether the shares will be marketable. If you think you would want to exercise the options, look closely at the agreement. Most provide strict time periods to exercise after separation from employment and lay out the procedure to exercise.
