Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Interview cancelled by company

Can a company cancel a candidate's scheduled interview? The reason I'm asking is because this is becoming a pattern, it happened to me a least 3 times. Another time a company cancelled the offer after they giev it to me. Another company had me go very lenghty interview and at the end when I met the boss, he asked me where I came from, half hour later they stopped the process. Later I heared they're not offering me the job. One thing I'm sure about is that I'm a minority from a religious and national origin point of view. My Name clearly states that. The HR person from company that cancelled my interview, screamed ''Oh my Gosh'' when I told her my first name (My first name was abreviated in my resume). What's the point of all those nice antidiscrimination laws if one cannot prove his/her case even if the case took place?

Re: Interview cancelled by company

You certainly may be the victim of unlawful employment discrimination on the basis of your race and/or national origin.

You should speak with an employment discrimination attorney in your area as soon as possible to see what, if anything, might be done.

I am sorry for what you are going through.
