job offer

I was offereda job as a contarctor at 55 an Hour Went to drug test did all background check and signed and faxed the paperwork. I was supposed to start on the 17th of November .On the 11th of november I got an email sorry we cancelled the job!! Do I have a case for compensation. I intende to get two weeks of ompensations at 55 an Hour. I have emails attesting all alongg all is well do not worry you will start on the 17th of november 2008

Please advise

You are an at will employee, you were not hired, and therefore have no claims to damages. The laws will not protect you here in Michigan. Sorry
