Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Meaning of Statements.

I have a ''Release of Claims'' document that states ''I acknowledge that the consideration given for this waiver and release agreement is in addition to anything of value to which I was already entitled. I further acknowledge that I have been advised by this writing that:

a)

b)

c) I have at least seven (7) days follwoingthe execution of this Agreement by the parties to revoke the Agreement.

My question is the c) statement. Do I read this as I have at least 7 days, which can be 10, 50, or 100 days? 100 days is at least 7 days. It is important in that the revocation period is dictated by this, which to me never ends. Please Advise.

Re: Meaning of Statements.

It appears you are resolving an employment dispute that involves waiver of an age discrimnation claim. The law requires that after the employer and the employee have signed the release, the employee has 7 days from the date of the sigining by the last party to revoke the agreement, i.e. change his mind. 7 days means 7 days
