Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

payroll violations

My employer consistently pays me late. I am supposed to receive a paycheck on Thursdays, however very often I don't receive a check until the following Monday or Tuesday and then most times the check doesn't clear. I can't complain to any authority because my employer will terminate me. How can I get my pay and stil keep my job?

Re: payroll violations

You must report the problem of writing bad checks and non-payment of wages to the Attorney General's office if you are owed back-wages.

It would be illegal to fire you for reporting wage violations, and your employer would face further liability for wrongful termination if s/he were to do so.
