Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

pushed aside

I have worked for my company for 20 years. I was diagnosed with MS 11 years ago and have had very few problems. My manager was out for three months and I was put in her position being told I was doing a good job and they appreciated what I was doing. when she decided not to come back another woman was hired to replace her without offering me the position or even telling me it was done until after the fact. Do I have a case against my company?

Re: pushed aside

You may have a case - but if the employer has a legitimate nondiscriminatory business reason for hiring this individual, it's going to be up to you to try and rebut it. For example, perhaps this person is much more qualified by virtue of experience or education. Without more facts, it's difficult to say whether you have a case now.
