Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
I quit my job for great reasons now what
The place where I was working had 1 other auto technician and he was stealing from my tool box, he was causing problems for me inside workplace and at home, ouw boss was confronted on many occasions regarding the stealing situation and the problems that the other mechanic was causing. The boss offered to replace the tools the other stole, I refused, it wasn't his fault, and he looked the other way with the problems and was unwilling to do anything about them. I ended up quitting I couldn't take it. Unemployment denied me, I have an appeal coming up. What can I do?

Tell your story fully at the hearing. If you can get affidavits from others that would be helpful or a witness. The hearing officer must find that you were justified in quitting. The fact that the boss offered to replace your tools should be dealth with and your feelings that stealing went unpunished and that you thought it would continue - you didn't want to work in a place that condoned stealing. Good luck.
