Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Refusing to sign reprimand

My employer wrote me up. They insist that I sign the reprimand and threaten to terminate me for insubordination if I don't. Legally, do I have to sign this, and if not, can I be terminated for refusing?

Re: Refusing to sign reprimand

YOu are not required to sign reprimand unless union contract says differently. It is not insubordination so if you are fired for not signing it, you will collect unemployment. Question is do you want to lose your job over this?
