You should almost never sign a release of any kind without consulting an attorney. [Driving range, ice skating rinks, etc. excepted].
When you sign a release, you are giving up important legal rights. The fact that your former employer has presented you with a release after termination raises some red flags that you might be owed compensation for some unlawful employment practice.
Please consult with an attorney about the specific facts of your situation before signing. We would be glad to review the document and provide a free telephone consult for you.
