Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
Salary deltas between employees doing same job
Can you tell me what the law is regarding differences in salary for folks doing the same job? Specifically, I make 28% less salary(or hourly rate) than the person who has the exact same title and responsibilities that I have . The only difference is she is she works full time(37.5 hours a week and I am part time 25 hours a week) I have my 2 year anniversay with this company in July, she has been with the company for 90 days. I have 20 years of successful sales experience (that is the job) She has never done sales. I am an employee in good standing, had an above average review last year, and I expect the same this year. I am always hitting my goals. Can the base salary compensation vary so much legally?

Unless you think the employer is discriminating against you on the basis of sex, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin or ancestry, race, color or disability, the employer is violating no law.
