Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
I was a seasonal worker at a Amusment Park in New England. There was someone elses items in a my bag in a public cubby hole. I did not put the items there or do I know how they got there. I was taken to the loss prevention office and trated like a criminal. Because the office handles cash there are camera's in all the public areas. When I ask to see the tape the person in charge said I don't do that. They wanted a written statement. which I gave, that said I did not take anything. The also wanted a recoreded statement but by this time I realized that the information was only going one way. At this point I decided not to answer any more questions or sign a paper agreeing to be what they called treaspassed off the park. The also claim that they are seasonal and as a seasonal employer they do not have to pay time and a half after forty hours. Is this true and do I have any legal options.
thank you for your answer

I would need to know more about your employment position, the state where you were employeed and the period of time that the particular park was open to give an opinion regarding your right to overtime.
In some instances, under Massachusetts state law, amusement park employees are exempt from overtime rules if the establishment is open less than 150 days (about 5 months) per year.
I am not sure of the federal rule on this exemption.
