I've was given pain medication for the pain and was told I cannot take them at work. My job suspended me for being ou sick. Can they really do this? I am also a single mother and need my job.

Re: sick leave
You should tell your employer that he is violating the disability discrimination law and that you will bring an action if not restored to work. At the very least, it may make him worry that he will have to hire a lawyer to defend suit.
Re: sick leave
You may be entitled to protection under the Family Medical Leave Act depending on how many people are employed at your workplace, how long you have been employed, and how many hours you work.
