Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

threatening termination

I am asst.mgr of a retail store. I have never had a problem or been written-up until recently. A customer e-mailed an anonymous complaint to the corp. office. Can I be written up and threatened with termination without seeing the e-mail or knowing exactly what the customer complaint is about? As yet, no one has contacted the customer to find out if the complaint is even legitamite. However, they say I will be fired if there is another complaint? Is this legal?

Re: threatening termination

Because we are an employment at will state, the company can terminate you for a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason whatsover. So, the short answer is, yes, they can do this (absent some evidence of discriminatory intent).
