Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts
I work for a full time weatherization company in Boston. If I come in and get sent home or my job cancels for the day they pay me 3 hours for the day. Can they take a half hour lunch out of those three hours. Is there a minimum amount of hours in a day that they can take the half hour for lunch?

455 CMR 2.03 provides that, if you are scheduled to work at least three hours and you go to work and are told to go home, you must be paid at least 3 hours at minimum wage. If your employer only pays you 2.5 hours, then it is violating this regulation.
