Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

Hi, we had a 1 year lease with a single family house, now we're on one month to month with 30 days notice.

My landlord never provided a statement conditions of the house we are renting just after we signed it, and as we're foreigners and not awared of my rights

It is a single family house,we have kids under 6 and we don't have any information about lead in this house, if it was deleaded or not.

The heating in the basement smells a lot it is an oil heating, and we had the CO alarm on couple of time!!

Can i legally refuse to pay the last month of renting, as we both don't have any statement of conditions of this house, and the deposit check was debited.

thank you

You should retain an attorney to review your former lease to determine if it might have had a self extending clause and to discuss with you all the facts necessary to determine what rights you may have with respect to your landlord. Good Luck!
