Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

Asked to sign multiple contracts

Im a student in Boston and Im living in student housing. My school keeps asking me to sign different versions of the contract for the same time period. They had me sign two contracts during the last semester for the current and following semester. And now Ive been asked to sign another contract. The second contract was an updated version that included a meal plan, but the newest one doesnt seem to be any different. So I guess my question is: is this legal and what would the purpose be? I also was never provided a copy of the signed contract(s). I dont know anything about law so Im not really sure what questions to ask, it just doesnt seem right to have to fill out basically the same contract time and time again.

Re: Asked to sign multiple contracts

It would be helpful to know whether you are living in on-campus student housing or off-campus student housing. Is your school the landlord, or is your school negotiating with a private landlord on your behalf?

You absolutely have the right to call up and ask for your all of the contracts that you signed with the school. You should have been given one immediately after signing.
