attorney charges
my landlord pursued in housing court for non-payment of rent.
on hearing day the landlords attorney heard my story and said that he will do out-of-court settlement by talking to property manager and postponed the case after 3 weeks. after 3 weeks he called me and left voice mail the talks did not succeed and told me to appear in the court. i lost the case as i donot have written evidence and my lease was terminated. i told landlord i will leave as lease was terminated they said i hv to pay lease termination fee. after series of discussions with them they waived all lease termination fee and now asking me to pay attorney fees if i dont sign mutual lease release.
is there any way out for me to come out of this situation?

This is complicated and seems to involve several conversations/agreements and a good deal of paperwork. On the face of it, it seems that you shouldn't have to pay a lease termination fee, since it was the landlord who terminated the lease, not you.
You should gather all your paperwork together and prepare a brief narrative of what has transpired and take them to an attorney.
