My question is: I moved into an apartment for a short period of time. I gave the landlord a thirty day notice that I was moving out. It has been two months since I moved out and I have not received my deposit back. I called him a few times and never could reach him. Two weeks ago I talked to his wife and she said I was getting the deposit this week. That was two weeks ago. Is there anything more I can do before I file in court?

Yes, retain an attorney to send the landlord a Chapter 93A consumer protection demand letter alerting him to your right to claim triple damages and attorney's fees for any violation by him of the security deposit law etc. Good Luck!
