ilegal apartment
i was told yesterday by my landlord i was renting an ilegal apartment and the city code enforsement conducted an ivestigation. they told her she has to evict me and the landlord gave me 30 days to vacate and i have 2 children. what are my right??

My condolences to you and your family for this unhappy situation at the holiday season.
You could retain an attorney to determine if the landlord violated the consumer protection law in renting the illegal apartment and should be responsible to rebate some or all of the rent paid by you and perhaps assist you in locating another apartment and to ask the court to grant you a stay to afford time to find another apartment.
If the landlord is found to have violated the consumer protection law you may be entitled to recover multiple damages and your attorney's fees.
