Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

My landlord has an angry temper, he has been yelling,swearing and harassing me, banging on my door demanding copies of my keys. I read the Mass laws do not entitle landlord to have copies of my keys as it is NOT stated in our lease.I have told him he is welcome to come into the apartment if he lets me know the reason he needs to enter. He yells/refuses to tell me why he wants keys. I was afraid for my personal safety so I had a strong male friend here with me as I felt scared to be alone but my landlord ordered my friend out of the building and told me no one else is allowed in the building.Its like he does not want me to have any protection or witnesses to his harassment. My landlord told me via email that he wants to show the apartment to other prospective tenants but our lease is valid through Dec 2013 and my rent is NOT late so how can he demand my keys and try to rent my apt to someone else? The reason I am scared is that I am not as large or strong as my landlord ( he is a large male and I am a petite female) and he does not seem emotionally healthy as he is often swearing and yelling in anger and his behavior recently is not kind or rational. -Scared Tenant

Your landlord is violating the covenant of quiet enjoyment. You can go to Housing Court or District Court and get a restraining order against him from doing this conduct. All of the things that you are complaining about are illegal acts by the landlord. You should consult a lawyer for your specific rights.
