Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts
My landlord made advances to me and left me a message on my cellphone (which I erased). I am a esthetician and I do massage therapy also, he left me a message that he wanted a dirty massage. My friend heard the message and was witness to his sexual advances when he showed up at my door. She was there at the time and he also came on to her. Since then I have not felt safe in my apartment and I vacated the apt. a month before my lease was up, with the understanding the the woman who lived above me would be taking my apt. (nothing was in writing). So I found another apt. and thought I was all set to leave early. A month after she agreed to take the apt. she changed her mind because the landlord was going up on the rent by $100. But by that time I had already found and place a deposit on another apt. Now he is taking me to court for that last months rent. I would like to let the judge know that the main reason I wanted to move was because I did not feel safe to stay in that apt, because of his sexual advances. How should I present my case?

File a complaint for sexual harassment. No one should have to go through with what you had to endure. When you go to court make sure you raise the sexual harassment with the judge.
