Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

My landlord only sent part of my security because he said 30 days was insufficient time to find a new tenant. I sent a demand letter to my landlord for my security and he called me to say he would be sending me my money but it is passed 30 days and I have not received my full deposit. What should I do next.

You can file suit in Housing court for the balance of your security deposit. Alternative is to file suit in small claims court. I assume the amount is less than $7,000, jurisdictional limit in small claims court.
