Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

My landlord sent me my security deposit after inspection of apartment. I received the check and cashed it. 2 days later the landlord put a stop payment in the check and my savings acct was debited the amount. I moved out of the apartment the end of November. Can she legally hold my deposit 30 days after it was already given to me and cashed?
