Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

Is this against the law?

Is it against the law for a landlord to tell you that overnight guests are not allowed? (my children having their friend sleep over on the weekend and sometimes during school breaks)

A camera with microphone is on my front door 24 hrs a day watching me. So she calls me up and tells me you had your son's friend sleep over and I said no overnite guests. Now she wants me to sign an addendum to my lease that if I have someone sleep over my house that is grounds for eviction.

I live in a duplex house its not a rooming house or a hotel room, its a house with the landlord on the other side.

What can i do about this? And, more importantly, what can I do with the camera on me 24 hrs a day.

This question has already been answered. In order to take action against the landlord, you can either go to the housing court for your city or town and take out a complaint against the landlord for invasion of privacy, violation of your right to quiet enjoyment and violation of Chapter 93A of the General Laws (for the last, you need to send a letter, certified return receipt, to the landlord explaining that these are all violations of Mass. General Laws Chapter 93A and you want him to sop and to pay you the 3 months' damages provided for in the law), or get a lawyer, since you don't seem to be able to grasp what you need to do.
