lease obligation after tenant dies
Is the tenant's estate obligated to pay landlord for remaining portion of the ''term'' in a fixed term residential lease?

The answer generally is yes, the tenant's estate is responsible for all debts and contracts.
However, as attorney Roth pointed, the landlord must take reasonable steps to re-rent the apartment. Please do not hesitate to contact my office should you like to discuss this further.

The landlord has an obligation to re-rent the premises. The Landlord has to mitigate its damages and must act in good faith.
