life estate with quitclaim covenants

Can people whom i gave property to charge me rent. Deed says life estate with quitclaim covenants

Without reading the deed or the agreement, it is impossible to say.

However, if someone retains a life-estate in the property they can't be charged rent for its occupancy. You may however be responsible for the taxes and the maintenance of the property while you live there.

You should probably collect your deed and other documents and make an appointment with an attorney.

Generally speaking, if you gave the property to another person, then they have every right to collect reasonable rents.
