Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts
I live in an apartment in Boston, MA and my toilet has been broken for three days. I immediately notified the landlord when I noticed that the toilet would be flushed and she said she would send someone out to fix the issue that same day but no one ever came. Can I hire a plumber to fix the toilet and deduct the cost from next month's rent? I've called and emailed the manager several times to politely follow-up on my request.

If you pay for a plumber you may never get reimbursed by the landlord. You should call Inspectional Services for the City and report the broken toilet. Request an inspection.
