Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts
Hello. I live in Massachussetts. I have to be out of my house by this friday and I really need a place to go. I have nowhere. There is an apartment that I know of that has been vacant for quite some time. It is an apartment in a house, not an apartment building. The house has like three apartments in it. I have talked to the landlord and didn't get a yes or a no. Last conversation was a while ago and I have lost his number. Would it be ok if I moved in without speaking to him again? I have no problem with paying rent when he finds me there and I will not intentionally ruin the apartment. I will make it better if anything. Could I get arrested for trespassing with this or is it ok under squatters rights? Thank you for your time.

I'm sorry to hear you are in this position.
You should not move into a person's property without permission to do so. If you do not have permission, you could be arrested for trespass or breaking and entering. Instead, you may want to see if there is anything you can do to get more time in your current apartment. Good luck.
