I got my mother's condo left to me. I did not sign any papers with the condo association and now they are trying to charge me $26 every day late with condo fees .I owe 585 and they are now saying I owe them over 6000 can they do this when I never signed agreeing to this

Yes, unfortunately, they can. Fees and assessments on condos stick with the property, they do not pass away with the owner. As the new owner, you inherit both the property and the liabilities: any back condo fees and back taxes, for instance.

They may be willing to negotiate a bit since you're a new owner through inheritance, but when it comes down to it, they have the right to put a lien on the condo or even force a sale to cover the fees.
