I moved out of an apartment that I lived in for one year, when the landlord and I did a walk through their were three things we talked about that I was responsible for two screens and a whole in the rug. I paid the landlord 1,000 dollars to move in and I only got back $449.40. and a long list of charges and fee's that he said I was resposible for. what should I do

Send a certified letter to the Landlord disputing the charges with which you do not agree and tell the landlord to either forward a check in that amount within 10 days from date of your letter.
If he does not return the money, file a claim in small claims court.
Retain an attorney to review your rental agreement and documents regarding the security deposit to determine if landlord handled it improperly and may be required to return the whole amount without deduction or at least those amounts you can rightfully dispute. Good Luck!
