Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts
proving landlord receives notice
Hi,
In general, is there a way to prove that you sent a specific document through the mail and that the recipient received it? Theoretically, you could send it by certified mail and get a receipt, but the recipient could claim that you sent something else.

Your testimony that the document was sent by you along with proof of mailing provided by the post office should be sufficient. What exactly is the problem?

You can have a constable or Sherrif send it for you. Generally, however, courts only need proof of certified mail return receipt.
